General Info

Water backflow contamination can be dangerous to your health.

Changes in water pressure inside and outside your house could cause backflow of water from your shower arm and hose, bringing molds or other contaminates into your potable (drinking/washing) water supply. Some states require the addition of this kind of preventive device to all hand held showers, even if there is a backflow solution in the hand held shower itself.

The Alsons Vacuum Breaker is an easy to install solution that prevents backflow contamination. This unit must be installed on a visible shower supply arm or elbow and should be installed over a drain or tub, since it does release some water when correctly installed.
