Collapsible Water Restraint

This collapsible foam Water Restraint provided a dam for the shower.

A Collapsible Water Restraint (also called a water dam) allows wheelchairs and rolling shower chairs unrestricted access to a curbless shower. Made of a heavy duty foam, the Water Restraint collapses when it is stepped on or rolled over. When the pressure is removed, the foam returns to its original shape.

This Water Dam is made of a dense, slightly stiff foam. It is designed to run along the floor and is not intended to curve up the side walls. When it compresses, the material displaces, making curves difficult. If you need it to go up the side, we recommend cutting the material at a miter angle, much like a picture framer would, so that the edges line up nicely when they are perpendicular. Then caulk the edges where they meet.

The bone colored Collapsible Water Restraint resists stains, mold and bacteria.

Installation Rating

Minor assembly, some tools or strength may be required.

• Installing the 1" high water restraint is simple. The self-adhesive, water resistant tape on the bottom ensures a secure seal.
• Cut the strip to the length you need, seal the ends with caulk and let everything dry.
