Pivoting Bath Bench |
Print this page |
|
These Tub Transfer Benches have a seat that pivots and slides to make getting into the tub a hazard free task.

|
You don't have to step over the bathtub's edge if you're afraid of losing your balance and falling. Use a Transfer Bench for the shower instead!
Our tub transfer benches are available in two styles: with a solid seat (Item # AM6077) or with hygienic cut-outs (Item # AM6078).
Each bath transfer bench has two unique features:
The swiveling seat.
Whether you are transferring from a standing position, or from a wheel chair, the position of the seat makes it easier to approach. The seat pivots 90º and has a double safety lock to allow the seat to lock in position for a more secure transfer. There is also a seat belt for additional security.
The slide mechanism.
Usually, on a solid bath bench, you need to 'bump' your way into the tub in a series of lifts and scoots. With this sliding seat, there is no bumping or scooting required.
This is a great seat for disabled baths or for handicapped showers. These benches can also be used as shower chairs for elderly.

Need more height to clear the edge of your tub?
Extension Legs (DL6078E) are available for our pivoting bath benches. These extensions add up to 4 inches of clearance in 1" increments. Each leg is sold separately.
When using all four extension legs the weight capacity of the bench is only 250 pounds.
Raising the seat height may make the chair feel more wobbly. However, as long as the legs are attached securely, the bench will still be safe to use.
