Handy Shield™ Safety Covers wrap around your exposed plumbing to protect sink users from cuts and burns.

Sinks need to be accessible for people who use wheelchairs. It's just too easy to press a foot or leg against the exposed pipes under the sink. This can result in scrapes and bruises, or burns if the hot water is being used.

Handy Shields™ are an easy and inexpensive solution. These soft PVC fittings fit over most supply feeds and p-traps under residential sinks. The shields provide insulation and protection because there is actual cushioning in the material. The whole install takes only a few minutes.

The Handy Shields come in white or black, giving them a nice clean look for any bathroom decor. There are no seams, so they are easy to clean and won't catch dirt. The Handy Shield Extended P-Trap has 3" of additional material on the neck piece that can be trimmed to fit. The Handy Shield is available as a kit with the P-Trap cover and two supply covers, or you can purchase each piece individually as you need them.

Installation Rating

Minor assembly, some tools or strength may be required.

• Wrap each piece over the pipe. A ¾" strip of VELCRO™ Fastener tape is welded to the material and runs around the entire opening enabling you to completely enclose the plumbing.

• Strong, ¼" self locking snaps complete the installation. The snaps are grooved to make it easy to open to service the pipe, but also deter theft because they can't be removed quickly.

• The Deluxe kits come with Supply Shields, a P-Trap and an Offset Shield. (Item # AM1405B & AM1405W)

• The Extended kit comes with Supply Shields, an extended P-Trap for longer pipes and an Offset Shield. (Item # AM1420W)

• Supply Shields: Cover the supply valves and hot and cold water lines.

• P-Trap Shield: Covers the 'U' shaped pipe where water drains.

• Extended P-Trap Shield: Fits longer 'U' shaped pipes.

• Offset Shield: Covers the wheelchair offset strainer, used on elongated sinks.
