Light Commercial Automatic Door System

Open the door for all who wish to enter!

The Open Sesame Commercial System is a light duty automatic door opener that can withstand repeated opening during the day, but is not suitable for an environment with continuous traffic. The light commercial model has a lifetime of 200,000 combined manual and powered openings. (50 operations a day will yield a service life of 10 years. 500 operations a day is equivalent to traffic opening the door manually every minute for a 9 hr period. The manufacturer recommends no more than 300 openings per day, spread throughout the day.)

When the button on the remote is pushed, the Open Sesame Automatic Door Opener will

1. Open the door

2. Pause for entrance or exit

3. Close automatically, returning the door to its closed position

The Open Sesame Commercial System has 5-7 pounds of closing (and opening) force at the edge of the door (for typical width doors). This is sufficient for most applications. Occasionally, due to wind (for an outward opening door), pressure differential, or excessive opening/closing resistance due to the threshold and/or weather stripping, more opening and closing force is needed. In these cases the A heavy duty version can be special ordered with a heavier duty clutch that has more force (8-11 lbs).

When triggered via the push button remote control, the door goes through an open-pause-close cycle. The opener will close automatically after manual opening of the door, like a standard door closer.

The Open Sesame Light Commercial System includes:

• One door operator to open and close the door (including the 12V battery).

• Two 5" round rugged wireless wall pushpads (transmitters) to operate the door from the inside or the outside.

• One low voltage wiring kit with an AC adapter, wiring and a junction box.

Please Note: When the door opener is installed, the door can still be opened manually. The Light Commercial System is not recommended for windy locations if the door opens outward.

Installation Rating

Assembly is difficult, special skills may be required.

• Installation does not require an electrician. The opener plugs into a junction box which has an adapter to plug into a standard outlet. The junction box is on a 30' cord.
• Any existing door closer must be removed or disabled.
• The manufacturer has telephone installation support.
• Do not use to hold the door in strong winds. A chain or floor stop should be used for this purpose.
• The door operator battery will require replacing after approximately 5 years of use.
