The Visualizer® Set is an indispensable tool for space planning for wheelchair accessibility.

This visual tool takes the guesswork out of the equation
when building a plan for wheelchair accessibility.
You've got the plan sketched out and you think it's accessible. There are so many things to think about:
Is the hallway wide enough?
Is the doorway wide enough?
Can the wheelchair get into the room, turn around and get out again?
Is there adequate room for transfers to and from the wheelchair?
Can a person seated in a wheelchair reach the sink, the light switch, etc., to do what (s)he needs to do?
Quickly test accessibility by manually using one of the three figures in the Visualizer® Set. The figures come in three sizes: 1/8" scale, ¼" scale and ½" scale. Each figure represents a person sitting in a wheelchair. The base matches standard wheelchairs that have a 30" x 48" footprint and require a 5' turning radius.
How to use the Visualizer® Set
Place the appropriately scaled figure on your drawing and move it around: into rooms, through doorways, around corners and into the bathroom and out again. Move the figure by hand or, for a better, less obstructed visual, affix the included wand to the back of the figure.
Think about what needs to happen at each point on the drawing and you will see very quickly whether what you have on the plan will allow a person in a wheelchair the room to maneuver around easily. Mark problem areas with the optional self inking stamp. (The black stamp comes in 1/8" or ¼" scale.)
The Visualizer® Set is extremely useful when discussing a plan with a person who uses a wheelchair. It is easier to demonstrate problem areas, like opening or closing a door, transferring to a toilet or other maneuvering requirements.
Eliminate costly building errors during the planning stages with the Visualizer®!
